Australia Day 2010 ............................................................................................

Australia Day is the celebration day of Australia becoming a nation and is one of the major events on the Sydney Harbour Calendar. The Harbour is filled with all boats alike to be a part of the exciting festivities. The major event on Sydney Harbour for the day are below:

Ferrython
Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm

The four green and yellow ferrys of Sydney Harbour will race against each other up and down the Harbour at full speed for the annual coveted Lord Mayors Trophy.

Awesome Forces - Australian Army 21 Gun Salute
Time: 12:00pm - 12:15pm

To commemorate the federation of our nation, the 23rd Field Regiment Royal Australian Artillery will fire a 21 gun salute from Fleet Steps North.

Awesome Forces - RAN Sea King Helicopter

Watch the RAN Sea King Helicopter flyover Sydney Harbour marking the start of the Tall Ships Race.

Search & Rescue Displays at 12:15 pm in Farm Cove 12:45pm in Athol Bay, and a Fly Over with the giant Australian Flag as it follows the Tall Ships race at 1:45pm

Best Dressed Vessel - Farm Cove
Time: 12:15pm - 12:45pm

Best Dressed Vessel - Athol Bay
Time: 12:45pm - 1:15pm

Boats who have entered will be judged in their decorations for the day to be eligible to win $500.00 prize money. Judges will circle the vessels all day to make their decision on the Best Dressed Vessel.


Tall Ships Race
Time: 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Three old tall ships race against each other for line honors from Bradley's Head to The Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Sydney Ports Jazz on the Water Concert
Time: 4:00pm - 9:00pm

Audiences on and off shore will be able to enjoy great jazz performances held at Pyrmont Point Park and Johnstons Bay.

Darling Harbour Australia Day Spectacular
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Enjoy the harbour boat parade to mark the arrival of the Governor of NSW. There will be a
show-stopping performance by the 2009 Australian Idol winner before the Australia Day Spectacular.
A stunning multimedia symphony of pyrotechnics, light and music culminating in a massive fireworks extravaganza over Cockle Bay
